Ghostbusters

We were watching living TV which was unusual for us and the program TAPS.  This was about ghost hunters.  They were investigating a haunted pup.  They had an electronic reader in their hands along with voice recorders and other paraphernalia. 

The electronic reader caught our attention as this allowed the the investigators ask questions.  The ghost could answer yes or no by staying away from the reader and causing no light to light or answer yes by getting close to the reader.

We watched the program with interest again to try and catch the name.  It was an Electromagnetic Field Reader (EMF).  Apparently the investors explained that spirits have a magnetic field around them and this is how the reader can work. 

They also explained as their batteries died for the second time in their torch that spirits feed on energy, they need to absorb energy to do anything like move close to the EMF reader or make sounds.  They get this energy from batteries and electrical items. 

I looked shocked as suddenly I had an explanation to the batteries in the clocks, controllers and cameras constantly going dead. 

We discussed the EMF and agreed that we would look into it as it could be very expensive and also a con.

Question the Neighbours

Some of our neighbours have been on the street since the houses were built.  We discreetly asked two of them that had lived here since then.  We asked about the history of the house;

• previous owners, 
• anyone died in it,
• any problems,
• what was here before it was built

One neighbour said no no one had died in it and no problems that they were aware of.  The other neighbour was a bit more forthcoming.  

He said that some one had died in the hall way next door to us but as far as he was aware no one had died in our house.  He said that over the years the house had changed hands many times and was often rented.  He also went on to say the previous owners who were only in the house for six months when they put it on the market had a lot of problems.  We asked like what,  he went on to say things kept happening like tanks bursting and a disgusting smell.  The previous owners had asked him about the house previously and they had mentioned the smell to him. 

Tingles went down our spines, others had maybe experienced something in the house, maybe I was not insane after all.  This brought a bit of peace to my mind.
